House Democrats have released a additional set of what they labeled "alarming" pictures from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 unveiled later on Friday constitute a minuscule portion of the approximately 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is probing the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The disgraced financier was a victim of an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
Among the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are well-known figures featuring movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are obscured.
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the pictures for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a presidential representative stated, maintaining that "the current government has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by consistently demanding disclosure, disclosing thousands of pages of records, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's liberal connections."
The photos were disclosed devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's links with the rich and powerful.
"It is time to end this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he declared in a release.
The release of these materials occurs alongside the House panel continuing its inquiry into the Epstein matter.
