Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Vigils across the state have been held in their remembrance.
The president explained he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump told reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”
Community members gathered over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support policing efforts in the capital.
“She was the kind of student that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, told the press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to help others.”
Funeral arrangements for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.
The incident led the government to pause refugee claims and cease providing visas to owners of Afghan passports.
Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.
He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on television.
The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she aimed to meet with Wolfe’s family.
Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the military.
“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
