Springer was instrumental for the Houston Astros securing the World Series in 2017.
Toronto's Blue Jays earned a spot in their initial World Series after 1993 by overcoming the Mariners in the seventh game seven of the ALCS.
Down by two runs, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning, propelling the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 triumph in the seven-game series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the reigning title, in the anticipated Fall Classic.
"It's incredible for this squad, the city, Canada," commented Springer, an integral part of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "What an amazing experience."
George Springer has now slugged twenty-three October home runs, making him third all-time behind Manny Ramirez (29) and Altuve (twenty-seven).
"There's probably not anyone else anywhere that I'd choose in that spot other than George Springer with his October magic," said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
The Mariners, after leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club that has never reached in a Fall Classic.
Manager Dan Wilson stated "without a doubt that it hurts" in the wake of his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but applauded their work this season.
"This is a unique group. Sadly that we finished on the wrong side of the series," he added.
Toronto claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and will host the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
