Iran Claims Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
